Generally, where there is a cessation of the taxpayer’s Business or Business Activity, whether by dissolution, liquidation, or otherwise.

The taxpayer will be required to submit a deregistration application to the FTA on the EmaraTax Portal, attaching the underlying supporting documentation. Upon acceptance of the application, the taxpayer will be prompted to submit the final CT return and pay all outstanding CT obligations.

An administrative penalty of AED 1,000 (one thousand) for each month, up to AED 10,000 (ten thousand) may be imposed on a taxable person that fails to submit the deregistration application within the established deadlines.

In certain circumstances, the FTA is authorized to deregister the taxpayer at its discretion, and based on information available to the FTA.
